This week, I am joined by Trystan, Em, and Jessie to talk about Annihilation! This is a super spoilery discussion about my favorite movie of 2018 and I'll leave it at that. Oh, and I also refer to Alex Garland as Jeff Garland at one point, but I catch it later!
Since I was so excited to talk about this movie, I jumped in without properly introducing it. So, Annihilation is written and directed by Jeff Garland and is staring Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, Tuva Novotny, Tessa Thompson, and Oscar Isaac.

My sister Jessie and I celebrate Sister's Day by talking about the South Korean horror film A Tale of Two Sisters, the evolution of horror film at the turn of the century, and how our perception of the film has changed over the last 10 years since we last saw it. We also talk about the Hallmark-card vs. Hitchcockian filmmaking techniques used throught the movie and debate whether or not it works.

Happy Father's Day! Today, to celebrate Superman's 80th birthday and the upcoming 40th anniversary of this movie, my Dad, Mark (the biggest Superman fan I know), and I talk about Superman: The Movie, believing a man can fly, and the atrocity of, "Can You Read My Mind?" We also get a little distracted talking about our favorite iterations of Superman/Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and Lex Luthor.
Trystan and I are taking a brief break from the Marvel Moday reviews but Nitty Griddy Reviews will be back on Friday, June 22 for a review of Fargo, with special guest co-host, my mom, Melissa!
